I never skip pages or words. I like to enjoy reading exactly what is written because I get the flavor of the whole piece as written.

I never skip. I simply can't do that. I feel like I'm cheating and if I feel like I need to skip pages then probably I shouldn't be reading that book. The book is supposed to draw me in, not make me feel like I'm being tortured.

The only time, and very rarely that I skip a page in a book is if the books climax is not like it should be and its just going on and on, with nothing exciting happening or if the storyline is terrible and I want to get the book over and done with.

I usually read word for word but sometimes when a story gets really long and dragging I skip the boring parts and paragraphs because I am eager and I want to finish it.

LOL - this topic brought back memories of being in 8th grade. I remember vividly reading one of the Sweet Valley High Super Thriller books, I think it was called Double Jeopardy. I wanted so badly to like the book but it was too slow for me. I skipped from chapter 8 to 13. This was the only time I really did that in a book I was reading for pleasure. What was really interesting about that was that when I talked to my friends I found out that many of them also skipped from chapter 8 to 13 - who knew?

I only skip pages if it's a book that has two or more characters and if I'm really interested in one of them. Other than that, no.

The only time I skip pages in a book is if I have already read it more then once. I have a question I am new on here how do I get my books?

Only if I really, really don't like a book but for some reason feel compelled to finish (which happens sometimes, because I have a hard time quitting a book). Then I'll usually skim quickly until I get to the end or find a better part to read.

I have read a few books where I ended up just skimming a chapter or so. That only happens when I have picked up what I thought was going to be a romance and ended up with something that should have a mature audiences only sticker. The older I get, the more I realize that the smutty stuff is kind of boring, and sometimes downright comical.
