I was about 7 or 8 when I fell in love with mystery books which I read exclusively until about age 11 when I discovered all the other interesting genres.

I don’t even know! As a toddler? As a child and teen, I didn’t have an allowance - we went to Hastings and I got a book a week :)

I started to love reading when my Mother used to read. I loved the sound and rhythm of the words. I don't remember a time when I didn't enjoy them. After I learned to read, I read everyday sometimes for hours.

I started reading as young as 4 years old because my parents always bought me books and educational toys/games. But it wasn't until 6th or 7th grade - not sure exactly how old I was then - that I started to really enjoy reading books.

I was probably 8 years old when I read my first book. I instantly fell in love with books and writing then and I've never looked back.

I was in first grade and read the entire Junie B. Jones series. Since then, I've pretty much always had a book on me.

Even before I could read, I had a lot of stories. I have a misty recollection from when I was very young, sitting on my mother's lap as she read to me, staring at the words and feeling soooo frustrated because I didn't know what they meant. By the time I was seven, I was reading chapter books and loving it. My mom would have to take my book away and tell me to go play outside! LOL

Even before I could read and write, I always felt curious about books and knew I wanted to read them as soon as possible. When I learned how to read, I would try to read any book I could get my hand on.

I wanted to read even before going to school since my older brothers could read. The eldest even wrote me some books about a boy and his dog, totally cute. I was extremely proud and happy when I finally could read all by myself and I haven't stopped since.

Once I could read, I found the love for books. I didn't have many friends growing up, and being teased, books were my escape. I don't know where I'd be without my love for books.

I was around 6. My mum was a primary school teacher, so she'd bring me all this nice books from their school library, then return them after I was done.

I owe her.
