I just read "The Quiet American" by Graham Greene! I loved it! Do you know of any thoughtful reviews of it in light of contemporary American wars abroad? It seems like a book that really should be revived in light of the current international situation. Thanks for this list! Love it!

I have read many of these books, however Thomas Harris (author) comes up for special mention, his books (Red Dragon - which is noted here - then "Silence of the lambs" and Hannibal" which are not included - How come? - 100 top mysteries and thrillers - No way Silence of the lambs is not at the top of the list - unless arranged in alphabetical order) were intriguing.
Presumed Innocent - Scott Turow and Bone Collector - Jeffery Deavers also receive mentions.

I guess I haven't read very many mysteries. I've read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I also have read a few Harry Hole mysteries, but I believe those are actually by Jo Nesbo.

Dan Brown's the Da Vinci Code is a good mystery thriller, though the book is better than the movie, it's a far more than just a fictional book, even if what was written and shown in the movie might be true or not. no wonder the vatican tried to ban the movie hehe

Wow! It appears that I have come to the right place! All of the above!! I would rather read than watch shows or movies. I do like to see the adaptations of books that I have read. Dan Brown, Ken Follett, Sue Grafton, J D Robb, Elizabeth George, Tess Gerritsen, Jo Nesbo, Karin Slaughter, Patricia Cornwell, Harlan Coben, and so many more. Right now, I am reading all of Ken Bruen's Jack Taylor series. I enjoy all genre. My favorite contemporary Western authors are Craig Johnson and C J Box. I will read any book that you provide. Thank you for this opportunity. Barb Good
