It isn't the same but another good tip is if you own the DVD you can listen and read the subtitles, this is sometimes very good.

I like reading books in Spanish on my kindle because you can go right to the dictionary by touching a word you don't know, and then if you still can't quite get it you can always click on translate.

I also like subscribing to newspapers in Spanish on my kindle - you can try them for free.

English and French for me, although it's been so long since I had any real need to read anything in French that I'm starting to lose it. Soon I'll need to make a point of reading a French book a month or something. Mes Québécoises would never forgive me if I lost the language.

I tried to read a history book in spanish once. It gave me a headache but it was pretty fun! I never understood a single word though, LOL.

Yes, I read in Spanish some too. Not near as much as English but occasionally.

My native language is Hindi and I have read books in Hindi. English is a foreign language for me though I grew up studying in English as a medium. I have obviously read books in English as well.

I am learning Spanish in school and eventually want to become fluent, so I do look for children's books at garage sales and at the library. I am still not advanced enough to read chapter books.

No one commented here in such a long time, but I am new and just found this topic! Sorry!

I live in Japan, where everyone is really into manga. Reading Japanese is really hard, but recently, I've picked up some manga for kids, and that's helped my reading skills improve a little bit. My slang and conversation skills have improved as well, since it's modtly dialogue. Plus it's fun, getting to look at pictures while I read.

I am hoping to begin reading children's books in Spanish. I am currently learning Spanish, but I feel reading can really help learn it faster.
