I usually like reading a book with both perspectives, the man and woman's. My favorite authors go into the minds and thoughts and lives of both so that is what I think about that.
When all think alike, no one is thinking very much.

either, but there are more girl main character leads in books. But when I find a male character lead in a book, usually that's the one I jump at. Maybe it's just for the change, but I think both are fine.

Any, as long as the author fits well in the opposite sex character's POV, if that's the case.

I am easy on this but now I have started writing it turns out my main characters are male but in my next the central characters will be a married couple.

I love reading both. I sometimes feel like something is missing when I read from just one's side.

Gender has never mattered much to me. As long as a character is well written I don't have a problem connecting to them.

I like both. I can relate to the female more easily, but I feel like I am learning more when I read from a male POV.

Female. Honestly, I think my opinion is biased. I find it more interesting from a girls point of view. This is because I find it more inspiring. A lot of times girls have to struggle more. Not because they aren't adept, but because of prejudice and judgement. Mostly from other people, they might be put down. That is why I enjoy female characters more than male characters.

Sometimes I prefer a female protagonist because I can simply connect with her more than a male, clearly. But some of my favorite books have had mainly male narrators. (e.g. Maze Runner, Variant, The Missing series)

It does not matter to me what gender the lead role is, the only thing I care about is that neither of the leads are weak, whinny and wimpy. I like strong characters, emotion is okay but they should still have a little bit of a backbone.

I rather choose both. It maybe boring to read if its only one gender is the main character.

I think i rather Female main charecters. I think so because i am a male, therefore it is much appreciated to view the world from the other side.

I don't mind either, but I prefer female characters, because I can relate to them more.

Interesting. I've never actually thought about this, but now when I saw the question, I pondered over it and I can say I prefer male character. :)
