I have not listened to audiobooks since I was a child but I believe it helps on the imagination. Some people likes audiobooks better as it is more convenient for them. I do not mind having a physical book in my hands, I think I prefer that, I find it more romantic and cozy that way.

I can honestly say I have never listened to an audio book. I enjoy the real thing.

Listening to audiobooks feels like cheating, for some reason. It's not really reading.

The real thing! With audiobooks the story just seems bland. When i actually read it i can imagine the characters and the plot in my head much more vividly.

The real thing, hands down. I have auditory deficit disorder, so audio books just past through one ear and out the other.

I've never really liked audiobooks until this summer. I found myself extremely depressed and ran away to Florida for a week. While driving, my head would get in really nasty places so I decided I needed a distraction. I pulled over, rented an audiobook from my mobile library app, and finished two books while driving there!

I like the real thing. Audiobooks sometimes have people who talk to slow or in monotone and it just grates on me. When I was in high school the librarian had me read books out loud to record for those that couldn't get the hang of reading books for class. I think I created somewhere around a hundred audios for her.

I love listening to audiobooks occasionally when I'm in the car or doing something that requires my eyes and hands. However, I don't listen to them on a regular basis. I love to read at my own pace, which is typically faster than the audiobooks, and I love the feeling of a book in my hands.

The real thing. audiobooks interested me for about a month when I was 12 because I thought oh this is so cool, I can do things! But then I ended up just staring at the walls while listening and not getting anything done. I made the mistake once of trying to read and drive... better if I just have music in my car and let the books wait, in any form. lol.
Somewhere out there is a world we never knew existed.

Languages never spoken.
Colors that should not be.
Lives never opened.
Eyes that never see.

And then the page is turned, a universe created.

We are gods.

I have never listened to an audio book before, but i'm pretty sure that I wouldn't like it as much as reading. I can concentrate better on what I am reading and really imagine what is going on. If I were to listen to a story I don't believe it would be the same thing. I can see the convenience of being able to listen to it in the car or working out at the gym. I don't think I would have the concentration to really retain what I was hearing though. I will stick to reading!

I really enjoy audiobooks. I have a desk job and have been able to listen to a lot of audiobooks over the last few years. They are especially good for certain books I couldn’t seem to get through actually reading. Or if I can’t put a book down, but have to go to work, I’ll listen to the audiobook at work and then pick up the book when I get home. ☺ Best of both.

I recently moved from Las Vegas to Connecticut and audio books made the drive worthwhile. But now that we're settled I'm back to real thing, there's joy to be found on holding a book in your hand and turning the pages.

For driving long distances I love audio books!
But just for reading? Definitely the real thing.
