I try to stick to one book at once because I want to fully immerse myself into the plot, characters, and environment. The only exception to this is when I'm in school and am forced to read a book for English class.

These days I kind of tone it down with my multiple books at once because of book series etc

My rule when reading is basicaly this

One star wars or Dune book
one big fantasy book like Mistborn or Wheel of Time
one action novel such as a Tom Clancy Jack Ryan Jr novel or an old classic like Executive Orders which I know itll take me a whole month

The maximum I could read simultaneously without losing the plot is 3. Beyond that and I am sure I would start mixing characters and storylines. :shifty:
