Help please?

Post by TerraneiParker » 28 Jul 2008, 10:00

I can't for the life of me remember the name of this book, and I want to read it again.

I know it's Young Fiction, and from what I can remember a girl is kidnapped into the desert, where she eventually joins the people who kidnapped her, learns to ride, learns the language, and becomes a warrior of some sort. I also remember her horse's name was 'gold-something-or-other', or something along those lines. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

It's similar to things by Tamora Pierce, but I don't think she wrote it. Please help?

Well I think I may have finally found it!

Blue Sword by Robin McKinley

Here is the description from Amazon:

"Harry Crewe is an orphan girl who comes to live in Damar, the desert country shared by the Homelanders and the secretive, magical Hillfolk. Her life is quiet and ordinary-until the night she is kidnapped by Corlath, the Hillfolk King, who takes her deep into the desert. She does not know the Hillfolk language; she does not know why she has been chosen. But Corlath does. Harry is to be trained in the arts of war until she is a match for any of his men. Does she have the courage to accept her true fate?"

Is that it?
