'A Tree Grows in Brooklyn' is one of my favorite books too. I think I'm gonna have to reread it.Dael Reader wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 17:00 Quite a few actually, because I've always loved to read so much. But here's a few of the highlights off the top of my head. (Note: some of these titles were enjoyable because the teacher who taught them had such a passion for the book and led a great discussion. For instance, Hamlet is the only book by Shakespeare that I every really liked. I think it was because my teacher really brought it to life).

At the time, being a young teen and at a point in life when I didn't enjoy reading, and use to think of it as uncool, even though it was required reading, I never even read it. I watched the movie instead. I still managed to get an A for the class.
However growing up and maturing, I have re-read it and definitely enjoyed it

However, Shakespeare may have been because the teacher was from England & his accent added a certain flare.

I LOVE the Awakening! It wasn't required reading at my school, I just sort of stumbled upon it in high school and fell in love. It is, by far, my favorite book.
