Have you ever maxed out on your library card?

I'm the only user for the card, and our library system allows up to 100 items to be borrowed, so I have not maxed that out.

However - and this is of far greater importance! - there IS a limit of 15 items that can have holds/reserves on them at any one time. I regularly max this out!

I don't even know the max number of items that can be checked out, so no. The number of books that I generally have checked out is around 30, but I try to read at least 5 books a week to help me from piling up.

I just checked and apparently my library doesn't have a limit on books, but a limit of 10 on CDs and DVDs.

Always. I used to live across a library. The staff knew me very well and would let me take twice the amount of books allowed on my card.

I haven't done it personally but I have seen many people, especially parents with kids who borrow a lot of school related stuff, max out on the card.

When I was younger my library enforced this limit that you could check out maximum of five books at a time. I was this tiny timid creature but had a big argument with the librarian that this was completely unfair. I read five books a day, it was just too much hassle to come to library every other day to get new books.

I did when younger, then also when I first got the overdrive app. Now I only take 1 at a time, since that is all I can handle with a busy daily schedule. The books are always there, and you aren't taking something someone else could be reading.

The most I've ever checked out is 60~65 books when I was in middle school and didn't have anything else to do after school but read! The level of the books was so low that I could fly through one in just an hour or so. I also rented a lot of comic books/manga which took very little time to read.

As a kid our limit at the library wasn't very high. My Mom wouldn't take me very often so I had to make sure I had a good stock pile each time I did get to go so I'm sure I reached my limit a time or two.
I don't have this problem now. I mostly do digital so I can immediately return one when I finish it and replace it with something else. Sometimes what I want may not be available so if it's a series I might have 2 or 3 at a time but I don't like to have a book that I am not currently reading which keeps someone else from having access to it. There are times I am watching the countdown until the days a book becomes available again, so I don't want to be unnecessarily greedy.
