Of course. The first impression is always important

The cover says a lot. A cover has to be captivating so as to attract my attention.

A shabbily done cover shows just how careless the author is.

I am guilty of choosing to read a book by its cover more than the summary. I mean the cover has to look cool! And the spine needs to look good on my bookshelf :).

Exactly. The cover is just the ad for the book. The content is always the selling point.

I don't really pick up a book depending on its cover. I usually pick up a book depending on the title and the plot. If the book has a good cover, it's a bonus.

I don't necessarily 'judge' a book by the cover, but the cover definitely is what draws me to book initially. But if the plot summary doesn't jump out at me as being particularly interesting, I won't bother buying or borrowing it.

I always judge a book by its cover. The cover usually gives you some insight as to what the book is about and if you want to read it.

Sorry to say that I do judge a book by its cover. I always love looking at the artwork! Also, I judge it by the title. If I'm browsing in the library, all I can see is the title on the spine of the book, so I usually pick out the titles that are most interesting to me.

I do often judge a book by its cover  I do believe that beautiful cover art compels me to read a book. Now don't get me wrong I do read the little blurb on the back to see if I would be interested in the plot. But it is often the cover art that brings to the book!

For sure, the cover is the first thing that I see, so it has to be appealing for me to want to read a book. It is not the only thing that I check, because obviously the summary is more important. But if I do not like the cover at all, I probably won't pick it up at all.

No. I would never do that. But I always take the first impression of the bok by looking at the cover and also would try to decode the story based on the cover.

I used to do it subconsciously. Not reading a book because I didn't like the cover. Definitely reading a book with a hot lady's picture. The day I realized it, I stopped doing it. I mostly judge my choice on plot summaries now. When in doubt, reviews by others help out alot. Even then I only like 6/10 books I read.

I think it's human nature to be drawn to attractive visuals, but the blurb has also got to interest me!

Either all the honesty, yes!!!@
I cannot like a book if cover doesn't attract me. It is an important ingredient for me to love the book
