Yes! Almost every time. It can be very distracting with all of the tv's around, though. It makes it hard to concentrate on the book.

I do! It helps when I'm awkwardly stuck waiting by myself, especially when they leave you alone in the examination room to do nothing but count ceiling tiles.

Of course! I'll even take books with me when I go shopping with my mom because when she takes her sweet time, I go outside to a bench and pull out my book. (It has to be small enough to fit in my purse, though!)

I always have a book when attending a doctor appointment. They never seems to be on time and I find myself waiting longer than I should have to so having a book with me distracts me but also puts me in a better mood.

Of course. Doctor's appointments, oil changes, you name it; my book comes with me.

Yes. It makes the waiting time seem shorter. But once I was so engrossed in a story that I didn't hear them calling my name. That was a bit embarrassing.

Yes. It makes it more realistic for what you've planned for. Because this response requires some in depth clarifications. It can also be a means of distraction to me while I will be meant to concentrate on the deduction behind the visit, and also can lure your attention away from what the doctor is insinuating.

Always. Doctors, dentists, eye doctors... even car mechanics! There seems to always be a wait and bringing a book is a good way to pass the time.

I used to always take a book with me everywhere I went. I'm not like that anymore, though, because I almost never read while I was out and about. I've always had company; someone to talk to.

Definitely, I will even read the book in the middle of my appointments. All my doctors are used to it now and don’t mind.

I always take a book. I live in an area where people chat in waiting rooms, yet I have Asperger's and Anxiety so dread conversation with strangers. Keeping my head down in the book both helps pass the time and signals that I'd prefer to be left alone.

There's always a book in my purse, and I also have the kindle app on my phone, so if I'm in the waiting room I pull one or the other out.

To be completely honest, I always carry a book inside my purse because I figure in case I find myself in the situation or I have to wait or pass time at least I have my book with me to read. As for doctors appointment, it has gotten to the point where my doctor asked me what book am reading now and what recommendations I can make to them.
