I used to take one for me and one for each of the kids, but now the kids are big enough to worry about bringing their own. I always have something to read though.

I always carry my Kindle in my purse... that way I am always prepared no matter what the occasion for waiting!

Oh, absolutely! I actually take a book with me everywhere so that I'm never caught with a bored expression on my face-- especially at the doctor's office.

I don't, but it's a good idea and if I remember to, I'll do that next time.

I have a Nook in my purse at all times. I hate to sit around waiting so those times are great opportunities to do some reading.

I keep at least two paperbacks in my shoulder bag at all times. My current two are August Wilson's "Fences" and "Invisible Man" by H.G. Wells.

Definitely yes! There's never anything good to read because it's just magazines and the tv doesn't really play anything interesting it's usually just the news. I'd rather just bring my own book for the waiting room. And then once I get taken to the exam room I usually end up waiting another 20 minutes or so for the doctor to finally come in. So what else would I be able to do if I'm just sitting there waiting the whole time!

I always do.Sometimes I have to wait a really long time for my doctor and I have to take a book or I would be bored.Books are a necessity to live.

Heh heh. That's something I love about Japan.
I never have to wait at the doctor's office!!! Unless I somehow end up going on a Monday, when it is super busy after the weekend, I usually just have to sit for maybe 10 minutes before it's my turn. So I don't need a book. I just play on my phone. Then I talk to the doctor. Then I'm done. 30 minutes or less from entering to exiting.

Oh,yes, I almost always carry a book or my Kindle whenever I go to the doctor's office. Where I live, it's difficult to get a doctor's appointment in a timely manner, and when you do finally have one, you have to be prepared to wait! Having a book not only alleviates the boredom, but it's also a great distraction from all of the negativity in the waiting room--you know, people complaining about the wait time, some lady chewing out the clerk because she can't get a "walk-in" appointment, and sick-yet-loud-and-energetic toddlers running around the place!

I always bring a book and/or my Kindle Fire to doctor's appointments. There is so much downtime in the waiting room and I can get a lot of reading done.

Yes! I hate to wait, and when I'm waiting with nothing to do it's such a waste of time! I always bring something to read to the doctor or dentist.
