Yes I find it very difficult to read and it hurts my eyes. But if I find the book interesting I read it anyway.

I cannot read small and compacted print anymore. It's either giant print, or e-books for me.

It is quite frustrating. I try not to discriminate but if a small book has a larger parent I will often opt for that even if I have to pay more. Presentation plays a pivotal role in the overall quality of the novel.

It is an annoyance but if the story is good I will deal with it.

It does. I can't stand reading books when i have to put the book really close to my eyes just to be able to see the print. It's really bad for my eyes and I just can't even get excited about the book if it is difficult to read.

Yeah I get very intimidated by how small words are especially if the book already looks huge! However it is already a huge accomplishment when I do finish it!

The print is definitely a factor in haw comfortable a book is to read. Smaller print does discourage me.

I don't really like to read books when the font is so small that I get a headache trying to figure out what the words say. I usually increase the font if I can, but if I can't I will still attempt to read...

It didn't bother me when I was younger, but now, in my mid forties, I can't tolerate a book with a font smaller than 11pt, with or without my reading glasses. The strain is too much. Thank you for this conversation! It's making me want to issue large-print editions.

YES. If it takes that much effort to see- let alone read the book- I will just put it back on my shelf.

YES! As someone with poor sight a book with small/compacted writing is a big discouragement. If its got a great blurb or I've heard an incredible review I will probably still attempt to read it, but it will take me a longer time than usual to read, which frustrates me. It can be physically painful to read a book like this, so I would normaly read something else with standard print first.
