Is there any series you just have to have a printed copy of?

Is there any book series that you just have to have a printed copy of? Or a hard copy of?

I recently (as of a year ago) switched over to an e-reader, though not because I really wanted to. Even with my nook, there are still a couple series of books that I just have to have in printed Hard copy. Like the Cassandra Claire Infernal Devices series. It is one of my absolute favorite series. That and the classics, such as The Odyssey, Cervantes, Chaucer to Grey, Dante, ect. (Havard Classics)

What about you guys? Is there any series you just have to have a printed copy of?

I definitely know what you mean, that is why I switched over to an e-reader. My books were taking up too much space. However, I think I still find some series that I just have to have a printed copy of.

Yes, I have many such books. Since my kindle. I buy less paper books though.

Since getting my kindle...

1. My 'paper book' collection of books that I really like would be tough to get rid of
2. Kindle is awesome for getting fast downloads
3. Some books I read just don't work in Kindle form. I wouldn't even consider getting them as an e-book rather than paper. Particularly books where there may be lots of navigating back and forth, or books with lots of diagrams or where colour scheme is v.important

Oh!! I know just how you feel. I have both of those series in print. I have the Infernal Devices in hard cover, and the Mortal Instruments in cover. I loved both those series, though I think I liked Infernal Devices just a slightly bit more.

Yes, anything by Jasper Fforde. I first listened to one of his TN books on audio CD then just had to buy them all.

I also have an e-reader (a Nook) and I think, while I like my Nook and the ebooks tend to be much cheaper than physical books, I would rather have all my books in a physical copy, if they are available that way. I just find the physical books much more personal than ebooks; so it isn't so much that I want specific books in a physical copy because they are more special, I just want them all in a physical copy because they are all so special (if that makes sense?). To me, being able to see the books I've read reminds me of the adventures they took me on and the characters that they introduced me to that mean so much to me. I also like to have the option of rereading them in the future, and while you can do that with ebooks, there is always a chance that something might happen to your e-reader and you could lose all your books! So, I prefer to have all the books I read as a physical copy, but (being a poor college kid!) sometimes it is just cheaper and easier to get certain books on my e-reader and just purchase the physical copies of them in the future.

All my favorites. If I get it on my ereader and absolutely love it, I like to get it in print. There's something more...personal and intimate (does that sound weird?) about reading it on paper
