Not really. I am not a fan of lending my books to anyone. My book are very precious to me and i don't want them to be treated in a poorly manner.

I really don't like lending my books to others. I'm very forgetful sometimes and I forget who I lend my books to and sometimes I never get them back. Also, I always fear that the book could be damaged somehow so I don't rest easy until it's returned

It depends with who are lending it to. If it's your close friends or siblings who you share things with, absolutely yes. For others I never give because I will never have the books back.

It all depends on whom I'm lending it to. I'm very particular about my books. I can't stand corners of pages being folded down. If they are close friends I'll lend them if they promise to use a bookmark :-p

I don't mind lending out most of my books. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love them so they are nearly always well taken care of and I do keep a sheet of paper on my bulletin board that says who has which books. There's a couple on there that have been gone quite a while and two that I'm fairly certain I'll never get back but that's life.

I used to be so generous but after one too many came back with a broken spine, folded pages or never came back at all I have stopped loaning books. If I'm going to keep a book I won't lend it out at all, if I am not then I will pass it to someone to pass on to someone else, but not to come back to me. Book crossing is good for this :)

Hope that makes sense.

I rarely lend books out. If I do, it is to my niece, nephew, or cousin. They have the same feelings about books that I do, so I know they will take care of them.

No way I do not lend my books because if it gets damage I lose a book. No one can take care of or handle my books like me, so to avoid all drama behind my book getting torn or ripped etc. I do not lend them out.

I do not like lending books, though I myself borrow books from people. For one, the books are often returned in worse condition; but what drives me mad is when someone borrows a book but then do not read it and just let it sit for a long time. You'd think they should return it, but no!
P. S. I once borrowed a YA fantasy book from a friend but rapidly lost interest and kept it for months, though in the end I read it and gave it back. Thankfully, she never lost patience with me, probably because she knew I'd never let a book go unread!

I'll lend my books only if the person is as much of a dedicated reader as I am and has proven to both take care of books and return what isn't theirs to the owner. For the most part, I don't lend my books for fear that I may never get it back, especially if it's one of my favorite books.

I would never say no, and at times I am the one to recommend lending... I hate it.
I lended A Handsmaid's Tale (Margaret Atwood) to my cousin and it did not come back the same, I had to get another copy.
I encourage people reading, since so many don't. I just have accepted the wear and risk to my books.

Call me selfish, but my books are leaving me when Hell freezes over.
I had a hard time even lending my old CHILDREN'S books to my little brother, let alone letting someone borrow books I read nowadays.
I'm terrified I won't get them back.

I make the mistake over and over again. I lend a book to a friend and it comes back in a worse state. (If it comes back that is...) oh well,...

I only lend books to my close family, i.e. child, mother. They take care of the books as I would and I don't have to worry about a book being destroyed or never returned. I often feel bad about not lending my books to others but I have had too many bent, torn or books never returned to me.

I can't stand to lend out my books. I've had one too many books go missing and it kills me to think about. Both times I'd really liked the books too.
