There are people who don't have a preference to have a favorite book or authors

I'm not going to say I've read an infinite amount of books in thirty years; however, I've read many, and many kinds, distributed amongst fiction and non-fiction, classic and contemporary, poetry and prose.

I can't pick.

I thought Animal Farm.

Then, I thought The Handmaid's Tale.

Then, for the longest time I thought, The Bell Jar, which I've reread the most. However, I tried to read it again, last year, and I just couldn't get into it---and I hadn't read it in like six or seven years.

Besides, I think our tastes change over the years, don't they?

Thoughts?

I can't pick also.I do not have favorites. With books, food, or colour.
I tried to force it for the longest time, but, I can't seem to pick.
So whenever people ask me, I say the first thing that comes to mind.

I don't really have a favourite book, but I have multiple favourites. Like, at the moment, my favourite is The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo, but 2 months ago it was The priory of the orange tree, and so on.

Yes, it is absolutely possible, I'm living proof. I love books, many, and love authors, many. It always depends on what the need is and interest is that determines what my favorite book or author is at the moment. It changes as I change and grow. And I have favorites in totally different categories, for instance my favorite fantasy author is Tolkien without a doubt, and my favorite sci-fi author is Arthur C Clarke, but I could never tell you which one of the two is my favorite author, I love them both equally well and each is a favorite in a category, but I can't compare them to each other because they wrote totally different things, it would be like comparing apples to oranges for me. I just can't do that. They are ALL my favorites. So I have large numbers of favorites and the rest are not.
