Percy Jackson for me. I will never understand how people can read/watch Twilight and Harry Potter. Lord of the Rings and Narnia is just meh, I do not dislike them nor do I like them.

I've read all the series with the exception of 'Lord of the Rings'. Personally, my favorite is the 'Percy Jackson' series, without a doubt. I absolutely love the phenominal storyline, the unmistakable humor and the prodigious idea altogether. Next, I prefer 'Harry Potter'. Let's be honest for a second, who doesn't love Harry Potter? It's an undisputedly stupendous series which keeps the readers hooked all through.

Coming to books, Harry Potter best adapts to the big screen. Even when it had to twist certain plots, the essence of the story is never lost. It has gotten whole new generations hooked to the series.

I love Harry Potter, and while I can admire Percy Jackson, I'm sorry but Harry Potter is miles better. From a writing standpoint and characters. I really like the Lightning Thief, but I was never able to finish Sea of Monsters. It just didn't hit me quite the same way as the first. Each of the Harry Potter books grow up with the audience and have really good writing and foreshadowing.

People can read Harry Potter because it's an amazing book. Great writing, and great characters. It grows up with its audience and has a formidable villain that is built up over 7 books.

I grew up with Harry Potter, so it will always be a huge favorite for me. I also am a huge fan of Lord of the Rings, I feel the books are very underrated, but man, are they good!

StefanB25 wrote: 23 Feb 2012, 16:41 I voted twice for Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Lord of the Rings would be the favorite over Harry Potter though. Twilight - No. I could stop there, but I won't. One of my best friends has read the entire series of Twilight and eventually loan me his copy of the first book - I got about a third of the way through and I became tired of "Edward" being in every other sentence. The movies - tried the first (I work at a small own movie store) and I usually tell customers that I would like it better if I was a sixteen year old high school girl. There was also a good quote that I saw online one time, went something along the line of "Harry Potter is about facing your fears and finding strength at the right moments, while Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend."
Lol! The last line is epic! But I agree. I read both Harry Potter and Twilight series. HP gave me a feeling of friendship, but Twilight truly was focused on how you need a boyfriend. I had been engaged to someone else before I married my husband, and that second Twilight book hit me hard with feelings of emptiness. I had a lot in my stomach reading that second book, and k never had the desire to see the movie for it. So it’s really no competition: I’d take friendship over emptiness any day.
