I have only seen a bit of Harry Potter and a bit more of Twilight (the first one) - and I would be inclined to agree with the poster above tbughi.

Is this even still a debate? I thought it was generally accepted that Harry Potter was objectively better than Twilight.

Twilight is more interesting and more visualize book that can be enables you to think about the characters and also develop more interest with the story continuity.

Harry Potter, absolutely.

For the sake of discussion, I'll try to say something nice about Twilight, though. I felt like she captured some of the feelings of teenage obsession very well. I remember how it felt to have an unhealthy crush at that age, and I think she nailed it. The problem is that I would never really want to relive that, nor do I think it's a great example to set for younger girls reading it. I'd rather my daughters be like Hermione than Bella.

I enjoyed them both. But I think Harry Potter was more original and creative and I am always in awe of such books.

Harry Potter I think will last through the days and of course came out when my sister was young and perfect age. I have read/watched both of the series for her and lets just say Twilight was hard. Harry Potter I will make sure my children/grandchildren see!

I'll be honest, I loved Twilight when I read it. I read it twice back to back actually. I was also 14 and had been reading Harry Potter books for almost 6 years at that point. Looking back on Twlight and realizing how problematic the book series is on a number of levels( I think most people know the stalker issues and Bella's lack of character issues) Harry Potter is just a better book hands down. There is more character development, world building, action, plot, and just about any other story element you might want. There's adventure and life lessons, and because the series spans over a period of so many years, it's likely that reader of any age are going to be able to find things they can relate with.
