If I COULD own all my books, I certainly would. Unfortunately my love of reading, how fast I read books, and the amount of money I have to spend limits this. So, I do use borrowed books (although right now it's more Kindle Unlimited than the library...)

I like to buy new books that I know I will want to read again and want to keep for my kids to read. Some books that I am interested in reading, but don't want to add to my personal library, I'll look for it at the library. If I can't find it at the library, then I'll search for a used copy.

I personally love to own all my books. I do go to the library and check out books to help save money but it is not the same as owning my own. I one day want to have a house with a library and show off my collection of books!

I prefer to own my books, or borrow from a friend. If I am invested enough in the first book of a series, I buy the whole series as box sets, and put them on my bookshelf.

Library. ? I love to see a library full of books. I could sit the whole day to read interesting books. I can't buy my own books and I am not thinking of buying one. I only borrow and return books in libraries.

Libary. ? I love to see a library full of books. I could sit the whole day and procrastinate eating when I'm reading books. There is not enough space in my house for books. So I prefer library.

But Presently Now 'I Have My Own Library At Home And Its Cool 'because I Don't Longer Borrow Or Pay' So I Love It 'because I Have My Own Library, Because I Read Anytime I Like!

Owning is of course much preferable. There are some books which I re-read so many times that if I have to visit the library every time I wished to read them, the library will probably decide to loan them to me for an indefinite time period. However, not always can I buy books, so sometimes I am content with borrowing them from library or from other owners. This works fine for me, but if I like the book so much I prefer to obtain it later.

I definitely prefer owning a book over borrowing from a library. I always hated having to part with a book, especially a good one, whenever I borrowed from the library. I much rather prefer storing it in my bookshelf once I'm done with it. It gives me a certain comfort knowing it is there and I can go back and reread whenever I'd like.

I'm a writer, so I can't afford to buy books. I get pretty much everything I read from the library. When I find a book that I really love, then I buy it. If I get a bookstore gift card for Christmas, I might buy some bargain books or ebooks online. But generally, I always borrow first. Who want's to own a book they hate????

I read library/borrowed books but if I love a story then I need to own it.
I have a bookcase filled with my favorites and another filled with books I still have to read =)

I prefer to own. Every year we go through and weed out the ones we don't want to keep to donate to the library, so of course this makes room on the shelves for more. Oddly enough I don't have a kindle or e-reader. I do have one on my list for my birthday though.

I definitely prefer to own. I like to be able to go back and look at quotes or re-read it again if I want to. I also like having a nice, full bookshelf! I will occasionally borrow one from the library or from a friend, but overall am slightly obsessed with owning the books I read!

I used to go to the library all the time, and I read a lot of my favorite books there. I later bought most of the ones I really loved but, unfortunately, I couldn't remember all of them. I definitely prefer owning them now that I can; it felt like I had to finish all of them in record time in order to return them on time.

Library all the way. I don't see the point in owning something I will likely only read once.
