I usually read the summary of the book first so that I know what I am getting into. If it sounds interesting, then I will purchase it.

Absolutely ! I like to check the genre at least, as well as for what age group the book is suited for (as I've grown tired of young adult as I grew up and now only find it comfortable to read books for older age groups). I always find it a great surprise to read without knowing what the book actually is about.

I try to read summaries to know if I'll like a book, but even little clues can spoil a book for me. So I try to avoid summaries if the book title seems interesting enough.

Yes, there are books that I pick only by the title, but that is rare. I usually read the summary to see if the book will be of my interest.

I almost always read the summary on the back of a book since just reading the title and looking at the cover gives me very little information. I might try blindly reading a novel but it would be from a list of recommended novels from a particular genre.

Never. I always read the summary, since I don't want to buy a book I won't enjoy.

I pick up all kinds of books. Either I like the author, I'm a fan of the genre, the title or cover is interesting. I have a great love for books, if I'm really unsure I will read a review/ summary/ synapse.

The cover art & genre is what pulls me in usually at first, grabs my attention. After that, yes, I almost always read the back blurb of the book and, at least now-a-days with the solidification of the internet, will read a few posted reviews of the book before buying it.

Reading reviews has become more and more of an important issue for me, especially as I have to buy history books in order to write my own books. Unfortunately, some of those history books can come with a price tag and before throwing down money, I need to make sure it is the right book I need. As such and luckily, a lot of the history books I need have reviews that point to the specifics I need to know (since a lot of the people reading those history books are obviously doing it for several very specific reasons like me, not generally for a Saturday night read with a cup of tea at night).

I don't just jump into a book without reading the summary so that I won't regret reading. And getting the best out of it

I don't just start reading a book without reading the summary of the book. No so that i won't regret reading it.

Yes, I have! I definitely recommend it for certain books. If my friend recommends a book and tells me to "just read it" I will go in completely blind and trust them. However, I definitely think that certain books or genres can be very confusing if the synopsis isn't read beforehand. So really, it just depends, but sometimes I think it's a fun way to keep myself on my toes.
