Reading while traveling

Post by Nym182 »

Ever since I was super young, car rides always meant reading time to me. Even in the middle of night, I would just read while the car passed under a street light.

Does anyone else read while being driven or flying? I find that reading really helps to pass the time and to ease my mind (especially when flying makes me a little nervous)

Any tips for optimum reading while in a car/plane/train/boat/horse etc?
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!” HST

I always read while flying!
I mean I'm the only person in the entire plane with the reading light on and constantly reading. Even the air hostess gets annoyed of me because I'm constantly asking for coffee! :P

I can't read in a car, I get carsick. But I love reading in a bus, or train (unless the views outside are too nice), or plane. I don't have any tips, when I am in my reading bubble everything around me is just white noise.
On a horse I would never read 😁.

It's the best thing one can ever do. However, I find it at times conflicting with my craving for seeing the environment.

I absolutely despise reading while in a car, bus, van, etc. It makes me very sick and nauseous, and the fact that most of these vehicles are stuffy or humid inside makes the situation worse.

On the other hand, I find it extremely ideal to read on a train or plane. I remember reading a full book throughout the entirety of my domestic flight, and it felt immensely rewarding once the plane had landed.

I've found that I get incredibly sick if I am reading a physical book in a car, but I can read just fine on my Kindle.

I could only read when I'm not moving, actually. Tried reading while travelling but it just isn't worth it.

I love reading while flying because I don't usually have a window seat anyway. Reading while in the car is a little bit harder. Recently, I tried listening to an audiobook while driving and I liked that.

I know some people can't read in a moving vehicle because it gives them headaches and such, and luckily I'm not one of them! I usually read on my phone because it's more convenient than bringing books, and it's easier to read when it's dark. And when I'm in airplanes and the people around me are trying to sleep I'd feel guilty if I turned on the overhead light!

I can read anywhere. I just need to have my relaxing music with me so that I don't get distracted by surrounding noise. I have to have a book when travelling. I find that it diminishes my stress and I am more relaxed. It's easy to disconnect when you are absorbed in a good book. And of course, time pases by more quickly and before you know it, you've arrived at your destination :techie-studyinggray:
