I buy most of my books in paperback but I have a few in hardback. I prefer paperback just because I carry a book with me during the day and it’s usually smaller and easier to put in my bag. Also I don’t really mind hardback but I really do not like dust jackets.

I prefer paperback just because they’re smaller and lighter. And thus, I can fit more on my bookshelves!!

I really don't have a preference. I do like paperback for reading in bed though.

Both! I'm rather fond of tradeback books (shaped like hardback with a paperback feel).

Hardcovers, because they feel more like Books, not just books. You know?

Both, but I tend to keep hardbacks longer for aesthetic purposes.

Paperback is great, in regards to weighing less and being easier to hold, but I hate how it so easily bends and then never quite goes back even when your are not trying too. Whereas, that does not happen with hardcovers, but they are really heavy so I guess it just depends on a persons preferences.

I love to read old hardcovers, the older the better...as in 100 years old or more. I like to imagine where the book has been all this time, who owned it, who read it... Editions like these are often much cheaper than modern paperbacks, and I always feel that I rescued the book.

I pick up a paper back book because they cost less. However, I enjoy hardback books more. They are more comfortable for me to hold. I also like purchasing hardback when it's a book that I know I want to keep in my library. Or when a book has more significant meaning to me; such as politics, history, or a novel that I think will live on forever, or go down as one of the greats.
