Nominate books for Philosophy Book of the Month

Post by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes »

Please reply here to nominate books for Philosophy Book of the Month.

In about a week, I will compile the nominations and create a new topic with a poll for all Philosophy Book of the Month participants to vote on the nominations.

Then whichever book gets the most votes will be our next Philosophy Book of the Month! :D

(To post in this thread, you need to have purchased at least one previous or upcoming Philosophy Book of the Month. This way we can be sure the books are actually being decided by the participants. If you don't have access yet, simply email your receipt to [email protected]. My own book, In It Together, was a previous Philosophy Book of the Month, so if you bought that one, you are already in! :) )
My entire political philosophy summed up in one tweet.

"The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master."

I believe spiritual freedom (a.k.a. self-discipline) manifests as bravery, confidence, grace, honesty, love, and inner peace.

Hi Scott,

We would love to see either the poll or the chosen book as the BOTM for the month of September.

Thank you

I have just now posted the official poll to vote between the nominations.

Due to how the timing worked out, the poll is actually for the October BOTM.

I know this is late, and it’s not a pure philosophy book, however it brings up MANY philosophical questions if you’re open to thinking about them-
I would nominate “Crisis of Conscience: The story of the struggle between loyalty to God and loyalty to one’s religion” by Raymond Franz
You keep on using this word, I do not think it means what you think it means- Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
