All three (including recommendations from friends) but when it comes to crunch time, the blurb on the back or inside front cover has to capture my imagination. For me, it has to encapsulate the story.
Poor copy creates a poor impression.

I completely agree Maud...The cover copy really has to catch my attention if I haven't heard of it before. For me if there is a book that I have read that I loved I also like looking at books that are similar. I love taking recommendations from friends too.

I'm mostly attracted to the cover, but before I approach the book with my attention fully. I look at the name, I've been messed with twice just by looking at the cover.

The cover usually lures me in, but I have to read the back before I buy. Beauty is not only on the outside

LOL and they say 'Never judge a book by its cover'. What else is there to look into other than blurb and front cover, if you are supposed to make a decision to buy or rent one, while standing in a well stacked bookshop or library, with hundreds of them vying for your attention.
