Please use this thread to nominate books to be book of the month.
To post a nomination, you must have made at least 10 posts and been a member for at least 1 week. Nominations posted by anyone who does not meet that criteria will be ignored. This is to prevent hit-and-run book promoters from abusing the nomination system.
Nominated books with an Amazon sales rank less than 200,000 will be ignored. Books must be available in paperback and/or hardcover format, i.e. no ebook only books.
When making a nomination, please write the full title and include the author's name, preferably both in bold print. 1 nomination per person per month.
Assuming we have at least 3 new nominations on the 1st of any given month, then a 10-day poll will be made with all the nominations so members can vote between the nominations. If there are less than 3 new nominations, I will pick a book by other means and the nominations will be combined with the next month's nominations. So generally, for instance, on September 1st the nominations posted during August will be put into a poll that will be open for 10 days. Whichever book has the most votes by September 10th will be the October book of the month.
Please try to nominate books that have been released in the last decade or so. In my experience, the newer the book is the more active the discussion. Classics are popular during poll time, but then are not discussed nearly as much.
Please do not use this thread to discuss the books or otherwise chat. Please only use this thread to make nominations. It makes it hard for me to sort through conversation to find the nominations.
