It's not my most-est favorite...but it's the most recent one that I kind of like and has made me think!! It's from East of Eden by Steinbeck...

"Timshel, (thou mayest rule over sin)...that makes a man great, that gives him stature with the gods, for in his weakness and filth and his murder of his brother he has still the great choice."

Right now one that comes to mind is from Vonnegut himself (one of my favorite authors) but it is Vonnegut on politics, frocked in humor that can only be from Vonnegut himself, so here it is;)

"The two real political parties in America are the Winners and the Losers. The people don't acknowledge this. They claim membership in two imaginary parties, the Republicans and the Democrats, instead."

Haha, got to love the man=)

I picked this one because it reminds me of Knightss, Derek :D

“His life was gentle;
and the elements so mixed in him,
that nature might stand up,
and say to all the world, THIS WAS A MAN!”
-William Shakespeare

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.

Long quotes, but worth reading I guess ..

They're both by Khalil Gebran, love him .
What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

Everything changes.
