The non-fiction novel Uber Taxi Cab Confessions by Joe Mahedy is a collection of short stories about the author's experience as an Uber driver. After the author retired from his long career as a broadcasting engineer for MTV, HBO, and ESPN, he decided to become an Uber driver in Stamford, Connecticut, and the surrounding areas. Mahedy's adventures with the Uber riders were shocking and comical while others were weird and disgusting. The author meets a wide variety of people every day and he even met some VIPs such as a New York Yankee, a professional helicopter pilot, a rocket scientist, and a CEO on Wall Street. On the other hand, he has also driven for less notable riders such as drunks, angry teenagers, cheating spouses, and women working for a high-class escort service. After reading Mahedy's novel, I have learned that being an Uber driver is risking yet rewarding.

The book Uber Taxi Cab Confessions held my attention from start to finish. This short novel can easily be read in a few hours. The author's style of writing is excellent and the book progresses swiftly. In addition, I did not find any grammatical or spelling errors. Also, the book is formatted professionally and each short story has it's own chapter.

My favorite aspect of the book is how easily I could relate to the author. I felt his excitement when he met a distinguished rider and I also felt his fear when he met a drunk and nauseous rider. Also, the author is very likable and tries to relate to every person that enters his cab. In addition, Mahedy also tells about some of his own life experiences when they relate to the rider's story. Also, the author includes YouTube links in some of his stories to prove that the information he is telling is true.

The two complaints I have about Uber Taxi Cab Confessions by Joe Mahedy are chapters thirty (Ten Commandments of Drivers) and thirty-one (Ten Commandments of Riders). I believe these chapters should not be included in the book because they do not pertain to the reader. It was a chore to read these chapters and it took away from the original story.

I rate Uber Taxi Cab Confessions by Joe Mahedy a 4 out of 4 stars. I believe this book deserves at least a full four stars because it kept me intrigued from beginning to end. Also, it does not contain any grammatical or spelling errors. I would recommend this book to everyone, especially for a reader looking for a good laugh. Although this book contains mature events, the author does not go into detail and I believe this book would be suitable for teenage readers.

I saw this posted in private review team forum, and I was waiting for it to go public! The name of this book intrigued me, and it sounds like the story is equally intriguing. I can only IMAGINE what the stories are from being an Uber driver. I'll have to put this on my to read list.

This book sounds fascinating to me because as a taxi or uber driver, I'm sure you meet many interesting individuals. I'm sure there are some dark and hilarious stories that the author tells.

Great Review! ?

I agree with the above, I bet there are some good stories but I bet some would make you really wonder what is up with some people! :D

This is an interesting topic to write on, given the fact that Uber is these days often in the news not for good reasons. I believe it will also be of great help to those wanting to become Uber drivers to make their decision. I like the review.

Thank you! I have always wondered as well. However, I live in such a small farming community that I do not think we have a need for Uber.
