Live Chat Feature [Escalated]

Post by GirlOnFire »

I was a member on a message board in previous years and they had a live chat feature where members could go onto it and live chat (like a messanger pop up winder) with whoever is all logged into the messenger. I thought this was great, it gave everybody who wanted to a chance to have live conversations with eachother. I made a lot of friends with this tool in the past. And with filters and rules you can help regulate the conversations, like filtering out curse words if you wish to keep it clean, rules and regulations help keep the conversations appropriate. It's nice t have a live chat place (other than just threat posts and replies) to talk about about, or just chat with eachother.

I think this would be a great feature to enhance these message boards.
Another way it would be great is for those partaking in the book club have a live place to chat about it with others who are also reading it.

I agree, I think that would be a great idea.

I have made this suggestion sticky so I can work on it.

Alternatively, what if there was just a shoutbox?

:text-woo: I don't know what a shoutbox is, but I like the sound of it.

Shoutbox is the same as a live chat and it allows people to message each other directly. I think it is a great idea.

Yes, yes, yes! Messages are great, but they can be very slow. A chat feature would really be more efficient :D

As long as there is not a time limit on how long we have to wait before we are allowed to post in it 8)

It would also be nice if we could have that 30 second lag back instead of the current 45 seconds we have to wait now. ;)
Just saying. :D

I was wondering how long it was! Going from game to game I get the "you can't post that quickly" message semi frequently...

Chat would be great! Although chat is typically flash and my phone doesn't use flash... But when I get a laptop again, it'll be awesome!

Just curious on the status of this suggestion. Is it still being worked on with the website admins or has it been tossed?
