I remember crying over "Tortilla Flat" by John Steinbeck. I think I may have cried over "The Cat who went to Heaven" as well. I'm not sure about the author on that one.

Those books were good but didn't make me cry. Close though! And the time travelers wife is about a guy who travels through time. It's a love story. Don't want to say too much.

It can be disturbing, but it isn't a horror.

I never did, but the one that got me closest is actually a classic fable, "The little match girl"By Hans Christian Andersen.

Like some other people have said--The Lovely Bones, My Sister's Keeper, The Notebook, The Wedding and especially the 3rd book of the Twilight Series, I can't even remember which one that is now but I pretty much cried the last 100 pages of that book!!

I read that when I was really little, but I was too young to really understand it.

I almost teared up at the ending of the His Dark Materials trilogy, which surprised me because books and movies and such usually do not get to me like that.

The Dark Tower by Stephen King. I was holding the book under my desk during class and reading it while we were supposed to be watching Romeo and Juliet. My teacher thought I was crying because of the movie, but it was only ten minutes in....

"The Bridges of Madison County" certainly turned on the taps for me. Recently "The Archivist's Story" Travis Holland andfrom the past Tolstoy's "Anna Karenina". But I could go on all night .....
