Oh man, yes! If there is no music or background noise, I can't write. I usually have my iTunes turned on shuffle so I get a nice mix of classical, soundtracks, '80's rock[cause its awesome!], soft rock, and anything else I have on there.
If I have music going, it inspires different moods and different writing. Once I get into a certain mood, I pick other songs that have a similar beat and theme. Words don't bother me, I guess, because I picture something first and then describe it.
