I just finished The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness.

This book thoroughly explains the true meaning of the Mayan calendar. This allows us to be familiar with the cosmic plan and the evolution of consciousness. What’s most interesting in this book is that Calleman combines the Mayan calendar with other major historical events. Its reads in a interesting and coherent fashion and makes abstract concepts seem logical even applying to the near future as close as the 2013 calendar year.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to expand their perceptions on history and culture and use this to challenge their perceptions on current affairs. After reading this it will completely changed the way you not only understand your history but the way you will look at the future.

Right now reading The Lord of the Rings, for the third time.. I just love it. I´ve read it in swedish a couple of times but newer in english so in a way the story is brand new, so much gets lost in translation.
Home is behind, the world ahead. And there are many paths to tread. Through shadow, to the edge of night. Until the stars are all alight. Mist and shadow, cloud and shade. All shall fade. All shall fade. /JRR Tolkien, Peregrin Took

My latest is "The Fairies' Midwife" by Lawrie Ryan, it has a nice little mystery running thru also some very interesting characters and also lots of twist and turns.

Next "My Antonia" by Willa Cather, this has had high praise from another forum.

It's back to Detective Hackett & Pathologist Dr Quirke for me with Vengeance by Benjamin Black (aka John Banville)
Dr Quirke is a great creation IMO and I'm delighted he has made it to the movie screen (although I have reservations about Gabriel Byrne in the role) :o

I needed something silly and light so I started Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich. And it is silly and light.

Behind The Black Door by Sarah Brown. Always wanted to find out what goes on behind No 10 D. Street.
From a former PM's point of view. It's quite a thick book, so I hope I don't get bored before the end. But so far, so good.

I started one called Master of Mysteries. Its about an investigator who debunks hauntings.

I am reading Remembrance of Things Past by Marcel Proust, and also listening to the Audio recording of Cranford by Elizabeth Cleghorn Gaskell. I love classic literature. Have read quite a bit of it, but am always thirsting for more!
