Now that I've finished Requiem for a Dream, I'm off to something more cheerful. Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch.

I am just about to start "Crimes by Moonlight", which is a collection of Mystery short stories by American writers.

I'm reading As the Wolf Loves Winter by David Poyer. It is very intriguing so far - I had never heard of this author - picked the book up at a local garage sale and have been pleasantly surprised and entertained. Googled the author and learned that he has written 30+ books. Prior to picking this book up I became infatuated with the Mary McGarry Morris novels - she is a wonderful author - I've read four of her 8? novels and intend to read the remaining ones. Have had to stop and begin reading a list of 10 books that are on the Evergreen Award List for 2012. Readers have a chance to vote through their local library branch in October 2012 to choose a winner.

I'm constantly reading, sometimes 2 or 3 at a time as I belong to book groups. Just picked up 2 requested books at the library. One is Our Lady of Alice Bhatti by Mohammed Hanif which got a very good review in the paper. The other is House of Riverton by Kate Morton. I just finished her Forgotten Garden and can't wait to start this one.
It's not hard for me to find books as I have access to the library, our senior center where, naturally, I'm in charge of the library and the volunteer department at our hospital which gets donations of books to leave in lobbies and waiting rooms.
Such an addiction to have and I'm loving every bit of it.

I'm currently reading Sowing Secrets by Trisha Ashley, which is ok. Something to read when you don't really want to exert yourself or do any deep thinking.

I'm getting through Something from the Oven: Reinventing Dinner in 1950s America, which is not quite as entertaining or useful as I thought it would be.

Two library books on container gardening...informative.
Finished Farewell Summer last night. Poor Bradbury...took him 50 years to publish this sequel to Dandelion Wine...finished it in ONE night. Excellent read!

I've started a new trilogy by Neal Shusterman 'Unwind". It's a juvenile/young adult sci-fi about a futuristic world where the laws of humanity have changed drastically. I've read 25% of the first book and so far it's a captivating read. The characters are well defined and the story is simple but well written.
