No problem, I sometimes think everyone forgets about him, when I mention him to anyone but my dad, they are either "Who?" or "I think I've read him." He had 37 best sellers so I know my father and I can't be the only ones. :P

His last book came out in '09 I believe called House of Reckoning. It was really good.

Wasnt James Herbert the one who wrote the books about the rats? I dont remember the name of the book, but it seems there was a series about it.

Yes There was the The Rats, The Lair, Domain, and the City. I never read The City it was a graphic novel but after the nuclear war and the rats becoming the dominant species in Domain I was done with the series. I love his book the Fog as well.

My favorite horror novel is Goth- Otsuichi.

I have been trying for a long time to find something that will scare the bejeebers out of me as this one did and have come up with nothing interesting.
Anais Nin-And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

I did a bit of research on this book and its been billed as "unfilm-able" by several directors and I have to agree, it would be nearly impossible to make a movie of this book, the only way they could do it is have a 4 or 5 part tv movie which I suspect would bore people or else cut out all the Johnny story and focus on the 5 Explorations and the House. Either way, its lose lose. A very interesting book for sure. :D

I agree. Although I would love to see how and if anyone could make a visual representation of the hallway, making a movie solely on The Navidson Project would dull the actual premise of the story. In any case it would be very hard to meld the two stories in a way that would be effective.

Btw, your avatar has gone to a whole new level of creepiness  , I'm sort of wondering what you're gonna come up with next......but then you might really shock us all and have a picture of some cute kittens gambolling about

^ Ha yeah I always ponder every 1000 posts if I will go down a different route than horror and post a cute puppy or smily face but the evil always drags me back. The pic is from one of the best moments in a great movie Grave Encounters, speaking of which:

Here is the link for the movie, ok so its on YouTube but ANY DECENT HORROR FANS SHOULD CHECK IT OUT. Its one of the better "found footage" movies out there with more than a few jump out of your skin moments, give it a go.

ALL FANS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR!!
You MUST watch Ring and Dark Water! They're Japanese horror films, and they're bloody freaky! Amazing though - they're so scary without having any horrible gory stuff. In fact, I'd say they're scarier than most of the gory things I've seen..! Ring's only a 15 (cos there's no blood and guts AND Japan's quite lenient with age ratings) but it's scarier than stuff like Alien. On the subject of Alien, I'm going to see Promethius today
