Apologies if there is a thread like this somewhere out there, I was not able to find it!

Just wanted to ask how many books you have read so far this year, and how many your goal of reading is? So far this year I have read 11 books, and my goal is 30...

01. Timothy Ferriss - The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich
02. Lewis Carroll - Through the Looking Glass
03. Ramit Sethi - I Will Teach You To Be Rich
04. Darcy Frey - The Last Shot: City Streets, Basketball Dreams
05. Jon Krakauer - Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith
06. Bob Clyatt - Work Less, Live More: The Way to Semi-Retirement
07. James Lee Burke - Cadillac Jukebox
08. Cormac McCarthy - The Road
09. John Wooden - Wooden: A Lifetime of Observations and Reflections on and Off the Court
10. Ian Frazier - On the Rez
11. David Schwartz - The Magic of Thinking Big

46 so far since Jan ....... bit too many to list here & I doubt anyone would be interested in my list!

I have a long (and growing :) ) TBR list but I don't have a goal to read any specific number ...... reading for pleasure IMO should not be constrained or restricted by goals or targets but should run free, wild, wide & roam over the peaks and valleys of the whole wide world of the written word - and anyway I get enough of goals & targets at work!

I've read 55 books so far this year. Some of them, whilst not exactly classed as short stories are short enough to be read in a day (especially if it was gripping).

Like Fran it's too long a list for me to list all the titles but I will list the books I've rated 5/5 which isn't something I give away freely. In fact since starting my book journal in October of last year, my first 5/5 stars was only given midway in January after reading Dead Souls.

So these are my 5/5 star books for this year (so far)
1. Dead Souls by Nikolai Gogol (I'd give it more because I loved it)
2. I've got your number by Sophie Kinsella (purely for the entertainment and humour factor...and the characters.....and
the story - what can I say, I love Sophie Kinsella)
3. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (this will always be a favourite no matter how many times I read it)
4. The Secret Garden by Frances Burnett Hodgson (can't believe I haven't read it until now!)
5. Persuasion by Jane Austen (need I say more?)

That's it so far.

What are everyone's 5/5 books so far this year?

I have read only a handful of books this year, Before I Go To Sleep, Hell House, Arthur and George, Fear and Loathing in las Vegas, On the Road, Woman in Black and my current one House of Leaves. I dont really have a TBR list at the moment, I more wait for the mood to hit me and browse the local bookshop and see what stands out.

Oh, just remembered I also read the dire 84 Charing Cross Road, but that hardly counts.
