I can't imagine a fan of Dan Brown being impressed with Umberto Eco ... bet they wouldn't get past the first chapter (and I'm not being snobbish just realistic)

I did enjoy War and Peace (although I thought it should have been called War and Love
) The last part seemed more like an essay than part of a novel.
