Quotes from obscure movie/TV shows.

Post by Bighuey »

I saw this on another website. We can have some fun with this one. Ill start it out.

"Get out, Norton! Out! Out!"- The Honeymooners
"Are you a fruit?"- Ed Wood
Theres a colorful line from Ed Wood that Martin Landau, who played Bela Lugosi in the movie, said when this kid told him he liked Lugosi as Boris Karloff's sidekick in some movie, but its too colorful to post here.

You asked for it Bh. Prepare to do battle.

1. "Hello Friends, I'm your Vitameatavegamin Girl........it"s so tasty TOO!"
Lucille Ball rehearsing her lines before taping the actual commercial for the product.
Unknown to Lucy, the product(an elixer promising enhanced vitality to the user)includes
alcohol among its ingredients. After several attempts to get her lines "just right"(each
punctuauted with a big spoonful of VMVM down the hatch), Lucy is drunk as a lord.

2. "You mean its in the house?" "Tennessee" Ernie Ford's response after being informed by Lucy that, unlike
rural Tennessee, "the plumbin" is in the bathroom, a room inside the apartment.

My Father took my brother and I to see High Noon on my sixth birthday. I've never forgotten the movie or
its message. At the time, I was struck by the similarites between my Father and the actor who played the lead.
Over time, however, I learned there was a big difference between what actors did (talk the talk) and what my
Father had done(walk the walk).

High Noon, great movie. Great song, both the Tex Ritter and Frankie Laine versions.

Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. I once met Clayton Moore. My wife had the hots for him, and he was staying in a hotel-cocktail lounge in Salt lake. My wife's sister worked in the cocktail lounge, and she said Moore would come in the lounge every night to have a drink. We went there and my sister-in-law introduced us, he shook hands with us , talked for a minute or two then left. My wife was in hog heaven, she wasnt back to normal for a week.

Heres one. "Thats how it starts, ooh and ahh then its running and screaming." Jeff Goldbloom in The Lost World.

If Frankie Lane's still alive,he's living in Las Vegas. Sometimes on the public access channel they show stupid
local stuff to fill up empty time spots. The last time I watched (2008, got rid of my TV that year)they broadcast
a homeowners meeting with his neighborhood discussing HOA business. There's FL(with dyed beard and hair)
He lives in the Scotch 80's, probably the nicest neighborhood in LV. A friend of mine bought a house he owned
in the 60's. Lots of stars bought in that neighborhood including Sid Caesar, Elvis, Jerry Lewis, Rich Little. Wayne
Newton lives near me. He's got peacocks. Sometimes at night caretakers walk them around the perimeter of his estate.
Ever heard one cry. Bloodcurdling. Wonder what happened to Clayton Moore. Maybe he's growing onions inUtah. TTYL

Clayton Moore died a few years ago. He was involved in a legal thing where he couldnt wear The Lone Ranger mask at public appearences. Dont know how it ever came out. I went through LV about a year ago, its really grown. I guess they tore down all the old casinos. Dont blame you for dumping TV, its mostly crap anymore. I havent had it for over three years and I dont miss it. But back to the topic, remember this one? " Good morning, good morning the best to you each morning from Ke double L double ogs, Kelloggs the best to you."

I sure do. Remember they used to put little plates with the Railroad's name and logo inside Kelloggs"The Breakfast of
Champions," On the front they had Bob Mathias, The Olympic Decathalon winner in 52 and 56. Who won it in 1960?

I remember those. I dont have any idea who won it in 1960. Ive got a record by Lester Lanin, The Madison Avenue Beat, that has those old commercials on it. Oasis cigarettes, Bryllcreme, Mr. Clean, 56 in all. Heres one.

Hey "Mabel, Black Label, Carling's Black Label Beer."

"Bryllcreme, a little dab will do ya,
Use more only if you dare
Bryllcreme, a little dab well do ya,
She'll love run her fingers through yer hair."

The Olympic Decathlon Champion in 1960 was Rafer Johnson. Johnson got into acting
after that. In fact, Kirk Douglas offered him a role in Spartacus. It was before the 1960
Olympics and would have changed Johnson's amateur status, so he turned it down.
(Don't thank me for this tidbit, thank Wikipedia)

Remember this one: "My beer is Rheingold the dry beer, Think of Rheingold whenever you
buy beer." Who did the Rheingold commercial on TV? Hint: He was lonely.
