Books that have made you cry?

I loved the movie "The Life Before her Eyes". Haven't read the book yet, but the movie really hit me.

umm i don't know why
but i never was really intrested in Harry Potter books
Don't get me wrong i'm a big fan of the authors wide imagination
I don't know why i never bought one and read it ?!
anyway the book that really got me crying is "the life before her eyes" by Laura Kasischke .. LoL and i'm not that sensitive so I was shocked but it was heart touching

This is going to seem strange probably but I cried during one of Anne Rice's books...One of her vampires tried to off himself by staying out in the sunlight during the day, and it just happened to be my favorite character. So it wasn't so much that it was a sad part to the story, but more that I was afraid he was going to be gone for good from the series.

I'm a real sook when it comes to books - there's heaps that have made me cry.

A Child Called It - had me sobbing the whole way through, I had trouble reading it through all the tears.
Cujo - any story that has a child dying gets to me.

You are welcome.
You should be able to write a reply in "What was the last book you read and your rating" section in the "General" topic, I was just interested what made you cry buckets , any book that can evoke emotion should be worth a look, or, for want of a better word, would you consider it a "chic book".
