What's your favorite book?

Neuromancer!

Hi there Wintermute. I also love Neuromancer and Count Zero. They are both great books. I would be very interested to know if you have read "Zero History". I got it after reading the other two and just could not get into it. I got half-way through it but had to stop it was just so boring.

The only Gibson I've read is the Sprawl Trilogy and the Johnny Mnemonic short. I'm sure I'll read more eventually, but I have too many other books on my plate. Have you read Mona Lisa Overdrive? It's the third book in the series, and it's a bit more laid back than Neuromancer and Count Zero.

I did not enjoy it as much as Neuromancer and Count Zero, but it is a good read. There are 4 intertwining story lines. Count Zero (Bobby) is in the book in limited quantities. Molly Millions returns as a significant character in one of the story lines.

I have a lot of favorite books, but the top ones are Blue Smoke by Nora Roberts, Daughters of Fortune by Tara Hyland, Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells, and the biography of J. Edgar Hoover..... there's more, just can't think of all of them lol.... anyway .... those are my top pics

There is a theme somewhere that you list your top ten, you have some interesting choices there, really like Mark Twain and have been meaning to read Nora Roberts for ages. Lets see your top 10 Kg

Ive read a lot of books but my all time favorites would have to be Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn Betty Smith, Homecoming by Cynthia Voigt, and The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. There are more and the order changes all the time but right now those our my top favorites.

I don't really think I have a favorite author...I love different ones for different reasons...I also seem to wax and wane with them.

I do know get terrifically disappointed when a fave.."phones it in"..almost like a personal betrayal.

I have to give a few kudo's to Rebecca Wells and "The Divine Secrets of the YAYA Sisterhood" as it brought a ton of friends my way via Harper Collins old forum with Ms Wells. I loved the camaraderie we 'sisters'' had for more than 6 years. Sadly the forum is long gone but have retained fond memories just the same. To have a book do that is quite extraordinary!

I guess though, one might say in answer to who is my favorite? The next one I find....

Bronte's Eyre is wonderful! Loved it and still do...

I do love the old classics, To Kill a Mockingbird, Gone With the Wind, Wuthering Heights, Rebecca, those books I can re-read.

I think I own more classics then anything else they really are the most wonderful books in the world. I do want to read the ya ya sisiterhood though its on my to read list.

Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, but Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier is a close second. Both very intense and atmospheric.

Perhaps an obvious choice, but one of my all time favourite novels is To Kill a Mocking Bird. I love the wonderfully innocent tone of the book as it is from the children's point of view. I studied this book at School and it has stayed with me ever since. I think this is just an all round perfect novel.

I studied To Kill a Mockingbird at school as well and that's when I fell in love with it. It's now in my top 10 books ever

i totally agree with Samantha and Connie, To Kill A Mocking Bird is my all time favorite too. And since I also read it in high school and loved it , everytime i re-read it,it triggers all the good memories of my high school.
Besides that, i also loved Gone with the wind. Since i was totally unaware of American history,while reading Gone with the Wind, I happened to watch a movie based on American civil war "Glory", and was terribly shocked to see confederates losing the war,and the cotton fields burned by yanks. I dreaded for scarlette and my worst fears turned true in later chapters. All in all , it was an amazing experience.
