Fables, vol 2: Animal Farm, by Bill Willingham

Post by Gravy »

Will contain spoilers for Vol. 1: Legends in Exile

After Rose Red was found out, and her plan foiled, her and Jack of the Tales are in for a good punishment for their crimes.
Jack gets meneal labor, and Rose gets to help her sister with business at the Farm, the sanctuary for all fables who are unable to pass as human...but nothing is as it should be at the Farm.

I enjoyed this volume a little more than the first, and with good reason. The depth of this story far overshadowed Legends in Exile. I still rated it a three, but that doesn't change the fact that this is the volume that really begins the story. It's a wonderful example of urban fantasy, and I'm really enjoying the artwork, especially the inclusion of the original cover art, which is a welcome treat between the original books :)

Grief is just love with no place to go.
