I have just finished Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks, which was a very good read apart from the unnecessary epilogue. Now I'm reading Year After Year by Kate Atkinson which comes highly recommended, and so far I'm very impressed.
Please can I challenge the bestsellers rule for nominations? Do bestsellers really need any more publicity? There are loads of excellent authors desperate for some recognition, and I'd much prefer to hear about their books. With this in mind, I'd like to add The Witcher Keys by I.R.Johnson to my nominations. It is a truly magnificent book by a very talented new author

I think you should only consider newer works(where's the dead horse button?) and especially by forum members. Everything old has already been evaluated. Let's get some new stuff in, especially our own like The Orange Barrel, that will sure cause some discussion, wow!.... charlie

Is orange barrel a novel? I'm still wanting to get you to read mine, Rarity from the Hollow, but sometimes I feel discriminated against since it was not self published.

Yes it is, a war novel about Nam and childhood and a lot more. What is yours about? How about a quick synopsis?

Has anyone ever considered doing a YA novel? My account is too new to nominate books, but since I'm 16 every single book you guys are mentioning doesn't even sound remotely interesting. For a site thats suppose to be for the discussion of books and other similar topics it's not very diverse, all you guys talk about are Adult novels, usually in the nonfiction or mystery/fiction category, don't get me wrong I do read Adult novels, but usually(always) in the paranormal/fantasy genre, almost every single book I read has something to do with either the paranormal/fantasy or is just a good action, dystopian, and/or mystery thriller.
