I have posted the topic to vote for the September book of the month. And I have posted the subforum to discuss the August book of the month, Puk Time.

You can continue to use this topic to post new nominations. As of the time of this post, nominations are for the November book of the month.

I nominate Bogota By Bus by Doug Taylor. i just finished it and its hilarious. Learned alot about Central America and am happy i don't live down there. Pretty scary. But the book is really entertaining. there's adventure, danger, intrigue and exemplary sex the two heroes have with a couple of hookers. The brothel madam is disturbingly funny. Taylor has some verygood insights into the world of Central America, the Sandinistas, drug running, Colombian Rebels, the jungles and a frightening ride aboard an old airliner. i couldn't put it down. The 1st scene in the book is really intense and I found my self reading through 5 chapters quickly just to get back to the scene at the beginning and how it plays out. this author leaves you with a cliff hanger at the end of chapter one. It appears to be like a guy's book, but I laughed til I cried anyway. Read it. Its funny.

I vote for LESLEY PEARCE. REMEMBER ME. An absolutely fantastic book about Mary Bryant a Cornish girl who was accused of stealing and shipped off to botonay bay on one of the first ships to make the journey. Based on a true story it captures from the start and doesn't let you go until the last page. A book that made me feel bereft when I had finished it. I wanted it to last forever!

I would like to nominate "Bogota By Bus" by Doug Taylor. Hilarious comedy adventure that takes place in the darkest of locals in Central America. At times riveting and dangerous , but never without a loss of comedy. Endorsed by the CLA !

I recommend highly Songs of Willow Frost by Jamie Ford. It's not a happy book but is one that you'd love to read cover to cover at one sitting if you had the time. It's his new book so there may be a delay in getting it, but it's well worth it.
