My favorite poet, is the brilliant Edgar Allen Poe, I advise anybody who's never read his works to do so.

My favorite poem is Sphincter by Allen Ginsberg, his rawness, humor and vulnerable writing always strikes me.

Sorry but mine called the Grim Reapers Tribute

girlies screaming, children crying, people hurtin, others dyin

and out of the shadows he did rise with an evil heart and souless eyes, this being of death and his scythe as well reaps the doomed souls straight to hell

ghoulies moanin, wolves howlin, trees groanin, alley cats yowlin

He is Lord Death come from the grave, to reap your soul with his stave, this wicked one with his immortal blades, tortures you till your spirit fades

women freakin, elders croakin, little ones shriekin, voices broken

cause out of the darkness with a skeletal grin hes dressed in robes as black as sin, this creature of death, broken from his cage takes up his scythe and hacks with rage

darkness risin, fog is rollin, stars are shinin, sunrise fallin

and on this night you did see, a premonition of your death to be, this spirit of death with one mighty blow, took your life as your blood did flow

your blood is poolin, your sight is failin, your body coolin, your color pailin

proof of your sight you now know, this is the time for your life to go, standing above you stands the Grim, understanding in your eyes that you belong to him

My favourite poet is definitely AE Housman. I would never claim he was the greatest poet that ever lived and it's all quite simple, but I think the quite orthodox style let's the beautiful sadness of his poems come through. The Land of Lost Content is probably my favourite.

Sylvia Plath; love her weird and wonderful and slightly disturbed style. I'm not widely versed in poetry though; Mad Girl's Love Song is one of my favourites from her. As is Mirror.

Favorite poets would be Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allen Poe.

Favorite poem -- that's harder but I can tell you the EASIEST of my favorites.... It's called A Word by Emily Dickinson.

A Word
A Word
is dead
when it is said,
some say.
But I believe
it begins to live
that day.

Having said that Housman, my favourite, is certainly not the greatest poet ever, I should probably clarify that - in my wholly subjective but totally correct opinion - T.S. Eliot is.
