What music do you listen too when you write

It depends on what I'm writing. Generally I make "writing playlists" on Spotify for my different projects. Coldplay's album "A Rush of Blood to the Head" greatly influenced my first novel.

I usually listen to instrumental music that fits the mood of the scene I'm writing. I usually find something from movie/video game soundtracks. Sometimes I can listen to music with lyrics as long as the words aren't in English. My mind is able to see it as white noise in a way.

I actually have trouble writing when I'm listening to music. I do love it when I'm brainstorming, though. In that case, I like listing to music by Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, or Frankie Valli. Yes, I am a lover of old music!
