Re: Do you sing in a choir?

I am about to start my final semester in college and I have been singing in choirs since I was 13. I love it so much! From age 13 through my freshman year of high school, I was a soprano 1. Then, in sophomore year I became an Alto 2 and have been such ever since. I think my best years have been in college. Last summer my college choir toured in Costa Rica. We also have had the opportunity to sing the Verdi Requiem and Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the big Symphony Orchestra in town. It has been a magnificent experience and I am really sad to be leaving the choir when I graduate.

I did on middle and high school, and several years after that on church choir.
When on high school, our team went to a few competitions too.
Really miss that feeling.

Like so many people have mentioned already... I sang in the choir in elementary school when everyone had to be in the choir. Even though it was mandatory, I actually enjoyed it. :)

I sing in my choir for 4 months and I sing in altos. Our repertoire contains mainly sacral songs in Latin but not only. We sing for example Vivaldi's 'Gloria'. The part 'Et In Terra Pax' is really beautiful.
I think that there's something mystical in singing in a harmony... It's really amazing to spend a time with people who love music too. I noticed that people who love music and perform it are more emphatic. Have you noticed it too? Do you sing in a choir or have you ever sung there?
sorry I do not know about your singing

I did in high school. My teacher at the time would use me as an example of how sopranos were supposed to sound. I loved it, though. It was the only few things that I had enjoyed in high school.

I used to sing in the Honor Choir in my high school and was tempted to continue when I went to college. Though things got in the way got in the way and I haven't been singing in a choir in a couple years.

I did, when I was much younger. I was a part of the school choir, and participated in a few competitions as well.

I don't but it seems like it would be really fun. There was a type of choir thing in elementary and I was in it back then. The thing is I absolutely love music and singing, I just don't think I'm good enough to actually do it in front of people.

Many years ago I did, both at college and at church. I might still be in one if we had a car, and more time. Life is busy at the moment, but it has been fun singing.

YES! I am still singing in my university's choir. It is so great and relaxing. It inspires me.
