I also agree about James Bay
What is grief, if not love persevering?
Grief is just love with no place to go.

Great rock. Also, interesting use of idioms in the chorus of the song Strike Back.
Love their music videos as well.
An excellent choice

For softer rock, William Beckett and Moose Blood (don't be off put by the name) are very good, along with Austin Jones.
For alternative rock/pop rock, Set It Off is a really good band.
Then Twenty One Pilots, The 1975 and Panic! At The Disco are good bets. Fall Out Boy took a nose dive when they forgot how to play guitar.

My recommendation would primarily be to ask your son what he likes because it is such a large genre that you could go completely to the wrong end of the spectrum.
I agree with the above: Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Twenty One Pilots (my current favourite) are all really popular andestinations have released new albums quite recently. I wouldn't necessarily say that James Bay or Hozier are rock but it's the kind of music that anyone could listen to. I would also suggest Bring Me The Horizon, Of Mice and Men, Asking Alexandria for something a bit heavier.... Pierce the Veil and Sleeping With Sirens are also quite good.. Maybe Paramore, Royal Blood, Twin Atlantic, Biffy Clyro... Foo Fighters and Nirvana are well established but Nirvana won't be coming out with new songs anymore but like I said, ask! Or at least take a peak at his Spotify/iTunes

"Harry Styles" album by Harry Styles sounds like old rock and is really good. You can listen to that or you can make your son listen to it now. Fortunately rock is not dead.maryakusiak wrote: ↑20 Oct 2015, 22:35 I am wondering if anyone knows of any good new rock artists that are coming up that I can listen to as my son likes this kind of music.
