Gwen Harwood- Selected poems

Post by Alexavier-Taiga »

I am starting my final year of high school, and for English we are reading a selection of Gwen Harwood poems, including
  • Father and Child - I Barn Owl, II Nightfall
    the Secret Life of Frogs
    and Class of 1927
I have read all of the poems my teacher set for us, but these three are the ones I most enjoyed. My problem is that I do not understand or like poetry and have no idea what these poems are trying to 'say'.
If anyone could just give their own personal opinions it would really help me understand the poems.
Thank you.
