I like listening to Sara Bareilles when I go to sleep. Her voice and the piano accompaniment is just calming.

I can appreciate Jazz cover songs. When Jazz musician's cover R & B love songs, it creates a wonderful combination. Listening to a Smokie Robinson song covered by Jazz musicians is the meaning of rekaxation and comfort.

I prefer the long forms used by Ambient musicians, such as Harold Budd or Brian and Roger Eno. Deuter. Or, I may listen to some early music, primarily viola da gamba pieces, played by Jordi Savall.

Also, I shouldn't forget Enya or Loreena McKennitt :).

I can pretty much fall asleep to anything but the type of music I choose depends on the situation. While I was at college, I had some loud dorm neighbors. When trying to block out their loud partying, I needed music that constantly stays loud, so I'd listen to Japanese rock music. If they aren't too loud but I still need to block out noise, I found Hozier's album puts me to sleep the fastest. I usually choose Indie pop music or opera to help me fall asleep. I notice classical music has a lot of slow dips in the songs sometimes and it doesn't block out noise as well so it's usually not my first choice.

"Syndicate" by The Fray always seems to put me to sleep at night.

If I'm lying down and I turn that song on, I'm out like light. :) A light that's turned off...

When I was an adolescent, I used to sleep to music, and it didn't really matter what. Sometimes I would sleep to Eric Clapton's "Unplugged" album, and other nights I would listen to Black Dahlia Murder, System of a Down, Hawthorne Heights, and other selections. I would be superstitious with the selections, though:--if I would have a crap next day, I would blame it on the album I listened to the night prior; if I would have a good day, I would know which album was "lucky".

I can't really listen to music to sleep nowadays. It distracts me because I would want to sing along or it keeps my mind thinking.

I listen to very repetitive and or nature sounds when I go to sleep. My favorite is actually Davy Jones' music box with rain. It was the melody played in the Pirates of the Caribbean when Davy Jones opened his locket.

I like to listen to ballads when I'm sleeping and I prefer international music. They just sound beautiful me. Most of the time I'm sleeping, listening to Thai ballads.

Soft and slow songs get me to be more relaxed and can help me fall asleep.

I love listening to Hugh Laurie's blues music before I go to sleep (Let them talk, St. James Infirmary, etc.). Certain pieces of classical music can help me fall asleep too. Through the book 'Instrumental' I'm currently reading I've discovered two pieces of classical music so far that I really love and they're really calming.

Satie, some ambient electronica, and occasionally it used to be Burzum.

Music always helps me sleep. Noise, really. I can't sleep if it's silent, because to me, it's a bit creepy. I have the radio on when I sleep. It's usually anything that is clear, though I prefer my radio station which plays today's music, and goes down to the 80s.

It really depends on my mood. Soft rock. Heavy metal. Classics. Depending on my mood or the weather is the music I will fall asleep to.

I listen to music every night while I lay in bed trying to go to sleep! I usually listen to quieter Rihanna songs or movie scores that are soothing.

I listen to either J. Pop or Beethoven.
