I don't think he ever claimed to be a great singer, indeed in one of his songs he pokes fun at his vocal ability, but he is a brilliant song writer & absolutely superb in live performance. He doesn't just sing a song he performs it and, for me anyway, I can feel all the emotion and depth of feeling that went into its composition.mland2000 wrote:I thought Leonard could not really sing. Is he better live, or was it the emotion in his voice that got to you?

By the way, casper, I LOVE Puccini's "La Boheme," especially the latest recording with Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazon. They are just so amazingly passionate together. What sadness! And it's great!

Can never hear it without crying.
Another one personally for me: Papa's going to buy me a mocking bird.
Not a particularly sad song in itself - but I had a work colleague who died tragically at age 33.
His daughter, then aged about 8, sang a solo rendition of this at the funeral. Was several years ago now but to this day, I cannot think of that song without a tear.

If it Means a lot to You: A Day to Remember
Human Nature: Michael Jackson
Believe me, there are many, many more, but I decided to spare you guys the misery of me going on forever.
