Wow, Big Mama Thornton. I havent heard that name for a while. And Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker. Classic stuff. Muddy Waters version of the Bob Wills song Corina Corina is one of my favorites. Also Hooker's Crawlin King Snake.

Another one was Taj Mahal, I think he did the title song from Sounder. It was either him or Lightnin Hopkins, dont remember for sure. Anyway, its a pretty song.

Another Oldie I loved was " The house of the rising Sun " by The Animals...

Roy Orbison was, in my not so humble opinion, one of the best singer- songwriters around in his day. His voice is haunting, his ballads spellbinding. There isn't another artist of the 1960s' mainstream that gives me chills like he does. It's a tragedy that he died early. He was a unique person and an incredibly talented one.

Roy Orbison was one of the greats, thats for sure. I understand his whole life was tragic.

Suzy, the twist is about the only dance I could do and that was while searching for the perfect can of beer.

I heard a couple oldies today, remember Babalu by Desi Arnaz and the Ballad of Maverick from the James Garner TV series. This version was done by George Thorogood.

Wagner, hm? What's your favorite opera of his? I'm quite the opera buff, myself, though my favorite opera composer is Giuseppe Verdi, his "Otello," "Aida," "La Traviata," and "Il Trovatore" containing some of my favorite music.
